FOUR years at a desk in the nation’s most famous comprehensive, Grange Hill, must have given pantomime dame Chris Crookall some pointers on how to deal with rowdy kids.
Added to which, panto-goers be warned – it seems Chris, who is in Snow White at the Royal Court, loves nothing better than a bit of audience participation.
“What I do enjoy is picking on the audience,” Chris laughs. “When you’ve got some fella there and you say hello, what’s YOUR name?”
Cue much batting of false eyelashes and swinging of hooped skirts.
Yes, there ain’t nothing like a dame, as Royal Court audiences are likely to find out in one of the theatre’s TWO (the other being Little Scouse on the Prairie) festive shows, Snow White, opening this Friday.
Chris joins a cast which includes Shameless star Tina Malone as the Wicked Queen, ECHO columnist Pete Price, Leanne Campbell, comedy legend Micky Finn, Evita’s James Waud, and newcomer Lizzie Warburton as Snow White.
“To work on this panto with Tina Malone and Pete Price – Pete’s an institution of his own here in Liverpool,” says Chris. “And Micky Finn is a legendary character. I went to see him last year and he’s just so quick and funny.” Read more clicking link below .....................
